Railers EHL – Weekly Roundup Jan 4-10

The Railers Jr. Hockey Club started up the second half of their EHL schedule this past Friday with an exciting come from behind 5-4 win against the Seahawks Hockey Club.

In their first game back from the winter break, the Railers had a positive outcome, snapping their three-game losing streak.

The Railers got down 2-0 in the first period, but rallied back to take the lead with a big three-goal second period with goals from Teagan McAvoy (Hailey, ID), Brendan DeMarco (Lowell, MA) and Mike DiMascolo (Cranston, RI).

DiMascolo gave the Railers their first lead midway through play in the second and also scored the deciding goal in the shootout.

One minute in the third period, the Seahawks wasted no time tying the game at 3-3. Later in the period, Kolye Bankauskas (Coventry, RI) gave the Railers a 4-3 advantage, but with less than two minutes left to play in regulation, the Seahawks tied the game at four forcing a shootout.

After a five-minute overtime, the teams went to a shootout. DiMascolo scored completing the Railers comeback victory.

Next up the Railers Jr. Hockey Club will play two home games Tuesday against the Boston Jr. Rangers and Wednesday against Valley Jr. Warriors both slated for 11:30 AM starts.
