Railers EHL – Weekly Roundup October 11-18, 2021
The Worcester Railers Jr. Hockey Club’s EHL team continued its hot start to the season this week winning all three games they played.
The Railers swept the week, first taking down the Walpole Express Wednesday in a thrilling 4-3 shootout win. Then the Railers headed to the Walpole Showcase where they picked up two more victories, beating the Connecticut RoughRiders 4-1 Sunday and the Protec Jr. Ducks 4-1 Monday morning in impressive fashion.
Now at 7-2 on the young season, the Railers are showing why they are one of the top teams in the EHL as they hope to continue as the season progresses.
In the first meeting of the season between Worcester and the Walpole Express, Walpole handed the Railers their first loss so Worcester were looking for revenge.

Matt Pimental
The Railers wasted no time getting on the board as 54 seconds into the first period, captain Matt Pimental (East Providence, RI) put his team up 1-0. Later in the first, Tyler Drummond (Baldwin, NY) scored the Railers second goal giving them a 2-0 advantage.
The second period was all Walpole as they scored two goals in under two minutes to tie the game at two.

Mike DiMascolo
Early in the third, Walpole took their first lead of the game. Pimental came through again for the Railers late in the third with a huge power play goal to tie the game at three. After neither side scored in the five-minute overtime, the two teams went to a shootout, where Mike DiMascolo (Cranston, RI) scored the winning goal and goalie Stefan Kulhanek (Wein, AUT) had three great stops to give the Railers the comeback victory.
For the next two games of the week, the Railers traveled to the Walpole Showcase where their first opponent was the Connecticut RoughRiders.

Damon Dulac
They started off strong scoring twice in a little over a minute on goals by Damon Dulac (Quebec City, QUE) and Drew Olivieri (Swampscott, MA). The Rough Riders responded with a goal of their own late in the first half to cut the Railers lead in half.
The Railers responded to that by scoring two more of their own on two power play goals by Tyler Anastasi (Andover, MA) and Dulac’s second of the game to make it 4-1.
To finish off their exciting week of play, the Railers took the Protec Jr. Ducks in their final game of the showcase.
After getting down 1-0 early in the first, the Railers quickly countered that with two goals of their own by Conor Donovan (Nahant, MA) and DiMascolo to close out the first half leading 2-1.
Mid-way through the second half Mike Martignetti (Winchester, MA) got his first goal as a Railer with assists going to Ben McGlashing (Arlington, MA) and Donovan to take a 3-1 lead.
With 13 seconds remaining, Martignetti scored an empty netter to seal the 4-1 win.
The Railers will be back in action next Tuesday October 26 when they host the Boston Jr. Rangers at 11:30 AM.
This week, an EHL All Star team will take on Curry College and UMass-Boston in a pair of exhibition games. Congratulations to Railers Matt Pimental and Stefan Kulhanek for making the All Star team.
The @Railers_JHC stay hot after defeating the @ct_roughriders 3-1 this evening with 2 power play goals from forward Damon Dulac. #EHLShowcaseSeries | #EShow | #PathToCollege pic.twitter.com/xz9iUPZTHg
