Railers EHLP – Weekly Roundup October 4-11, 2022
The Worcester Railers Jr. Hockey Club’s EHL Premier team came into this week red-hot but found themselves on the losing end of two tough games this go-around.
On Wednesday, the Railers took on the Valley Jr. Warriors and lost 3-2 in a back-and-forth battle. They ended the week on Saturday playing the Boston Jr. Rangers and lost 5-1 in a game where they couldn’t quite get the offense rolling.

Michael Holland
In their game against the Jr. Warriors, Michael Holland (Portsmouth, NH) got the Railers on the board.
The game remained 1-0 heading into the second where the Jr. Warriors scored two in under a minute to take a 2-1 lead.
13 minutes into the third, it was Holland again who came up clutch tying the game at two with his second goal of the game.
A little over a minute later, the Jr. Warriors scored to break the tie and went on to win the game 3-2, handing the Railers their first regulation loss since the first game of the season.
The Railers looked to get back on track against the Boston Jr. Rangers on Saturday, but got down early and could not recover.
The Jr. Rangers scored one in the first, two in the second and two in the third to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
The Railers put 31 shots on net, but Jr. Rangers goalie Nicholas Mutscheler was solid.

Michael O’Malley
With less than two minutes to go in the game Jed Morone (River-Edge, NJ) scored a power play goal with assists going to Michael O’Malley (Hudson, MA) and Gavin Bernsten (New York, NY).
Worcester (6-3-1-0) will look to get back in the win column on Saturday when they take on the Vermont Lumberjacks at Leddy Arena (4 pm).
